There are a group of folks (most graduated a lot earlier than we did) who meet every month for lunch at one of the restaurants on Rt 1.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of our graduation, June 15, 1961, Mount Vernon Class of 1961 will host a mid-week luncheon on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Cedar Knoll Inn Restaurant. Cedar Knoll is located about a mile north of Mount Vernon Estate at 9030 Lucia Lane, Alexandria, VA 22308 (the corner of the G.W. Parkway and Lucia Lane). Phone: 703-799-1501.

Their generosity is greatly appreciated. Everyone who attended the reunion was very pleased with the service that we received at the Old Town Radisson Hotel. The hotel facilities and personnel were very accommodating. This was an excellent venue for the reunion. Class of 1974 (Updated 09/27/04) I'm trying to reach all Mount Vernon High School Class of '74 alumns to reunite once again this fall. I've been working with Avis Wilkinson (formerly McCauley) and Jim Fullerton in making the arrangements. As many know we had to cancel the classmate only event at The Wharf due to the venue not capping another reunion. We weren't sure if we would be able to find another place so close to the date but Karol (Works) Moore and Mike Moore have located the perfect venue for Friday night. I know many were coming in on Friday to attend both events so I wanted to get this letter out to you soon of the changes. The new location is Grevey's Sports Bar 8130 Arlington Boulevard Falls Church, VA 22042-1025 (703) 560-8530. The time is still 7pm to 11pm and very casual dress so wear shorts if you like. Class of 2001 (Updated 02/08/11) Reunion Coordinator: mvhs2001reunion@gmail.com Hello MV Class of 2001! We finally set some details for our 10-year class reunion! It will take place on Friday, July 22 from 9pm to midnight at the beautiful Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town, Alexandria. Tickets are $75 per person, which includes a 3-hour full open bar (liquor, wine, beer & non-alcoholic beverages), delicious passed hors d'oeuvres from the amazing BRABO restaurant, exclusive use of the venue, DJ for dancing and aw...esome door prizes! After we close out Lorien at midnight, we'll stumble over to a nearby bar and continue the celebration! Afterparty bar TBA. Come toast your high school buddies, share some memories, reconnect with old friends, and hang out with Mount Vernon High School Class of 2001. Here are more details: Hotel: Lorien Hotel & Spa is located at 1600 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, just two blocks from the King Street Metro station. Valet parking is available at the day of the event for $10/car. It will be $25 for overnight parking. Free street parking is available after 5pm. Accommodations: A room block at Lorien Hotel & Spa has been reserved for any out-of-town guests needing a place to stay the night. A discounted rate of $149 for Friday, July 22 has been arranged for either a single or double room. Please call the hotel at (877) 956-7436 and place your accommodations under the “Mount Vernon High Reunion” in order to receive the discounted rate.
